After months of flirting, former Massachusetts U.S. Senator Scott Brown plans to announce he’s running for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire Thursday in Portsmouth.
In an email to supporters, Brown says he reached a decision after spending the past few weeks campaigning across the Granite State.
Brown is scheduled to make an announcement Thursday evening at the Portsmouth Harborside Hotel.
Brown moved to his family’s summer home in Rye late last year.
He formed exploratory committee last month.
Brown seeks to challenge incumbent Democrat Jeanne Shaheen, but will first have to face off against several Republican challengers in a primary.
U.S. Senator Bob Smith, former state Senator Jim Rubens, and conservative activist Karen Testerman are among the Republicans also running.
