The top stories of the week for June 24-30.

1.  The Widening Lyme Disease Divide

2.  Our Annual Summer Books Show

With warm vacations on our minds, we’ll look at some of the best reads for the longest days of the year. There are new fiction offerings from familiar names like Carl Hiaasen, Dave Eggers, Neil Gaiman and Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King.  Foodies will froth over the fact that Omnivore's Dilemma author, Michael Pollan is out with a new book on the transformation of food called Cooked.  And for those with New Hampshire pride, DaVinci Code author, Dan Brown is out with his new book, Inferno, while Pulitzer Prize winner and former Poet Laureate, Charles Simic is out with a half-century collection of his work.

3.  Quirk In Health Law Creates ‘Coverage Canyon’

At 60-years old, Wendy Rogers considers herself lucky. She’s healthy, her kids are grown. There’s just one thing that gets her down: health insurance. Rogers classifies herself as the working poor. She earns less than $11,000 a year, enough to qualify for fuel assistance and food stamps…but in New Hampshire, not Medicaid.

At NHPR, we have taken this opportunity to take a look at our entire weekday lineup, and challenged ourselves with some important questions.

10.  Carl Hiaasen

The #1 New York Times bestselling author is back doing what he does best: spinning a wickedly funny, fiercely pointed Florida tale in which the greedy, the corrupt, and the degraders of pristine land get their comeuppance in a mordantly ingenious, diabolically entertaining fashion.
